  • DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT

We maintain a highly trained caring staff to meet the needs of sick pets.  We also have many diagnostic services available.  Our hospital has a radiology and in-house laboratory, a pharmacy, a well equipped treatment center and full surgical facility.

  • DENTAL CARE

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth and overall health. By maintaining a healthy, clean teeth and gums your pet will not only be more comfortable, able to chew and process food properly but will live longer too.  We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. We recommend preventive cleanings (or prophies) before problems occur.  We also treat periodontal (gum) problems and do, unfortunately, many extractions that could have been prevented.  We also refer to Veterinary Dental Specialists for root canals,  fractured teeth and other specialized treatments .

  • MICROCHIPPING

WHAT IS MICROCHIPPING?                                                    Microchipping is a permanent identification system for your pet.  Brighton Animal Hospital utilizes the HomeAgain Microchip to help your pet from becoming a statistic, as over 10 million pets are lost each year.

    HOW MICROCHIPPING WORKS

A small microchip, approximately the size of a grain of rice, is injected under the skin between the shoulder blades, much in the same way a vaccine is administered.  Each microchip has a unique 10-digit code that must be registered with the American Kennel Club's (AKC) Companion Animal Recovery Program by completing an enrollment form.  When a lost or stray pet arrives at a shelter, animal control agency, or veterinary hospital, a special hand-held scanner is passed over the animal's shoulder blades.  The scanner reads the identification code beneath the surface.  The Companion Animal Recovery Organization is notified and contacts the owner.  The central database is maintained 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

SAFE AND EFFECTIVE                                                                                The microchip is designed to last for the life of the pet.  It is encased in biocompatible material and features an anti-migration cap to prevent movement over the pet's body surface.  Its code is unalterable and activated only when read by a scanner.  It is completely safe for use in dogs and cats of any age and has reunited over 50,000 pets with their owners nationwide.
